OpenAI DevDay 2026: the developer launches

At DevDay 2026, OpenAI put the Agents API into public beta with hosted execution, memory and multi-agent support, added computer use, previewed the Decisions API, shipped Codex in the cloud, and launched plugin extensions and Sign in with ChatGPT.

Why it mattered The bundle moves OpenAI from model provider to agent infrastructure: hosted runtime, memory, multi-agent orchestration and partner identity in one platform.

The developer surface also included Codex Security Cloud, Bedrock Managed Agents with AWS, Private Intelligence with Private Safety Processing, Code Review in Codex, and the OpenAI Marketplace for enterprise commitments on partner products. The Decisions API entered limited preview for Luna classification and routing, and Sign in with ChatGPT launched with 16 partners.
