  1. Pentagon designates Anthropic a supply-chain risk

    The US Department of Defense designated Anthropic a supply-chain risk in early March 2026, starting a phase-out of the company’s tools from department use. Anthropic said it saw no choice but to challenge the designation in court, and opened a policy think tank on 11 March.

    The National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, chaired by Eric Schmidt with vice chair Robert Work, delivered a final report of more than 700 pages to Congress on 1 March 2021, arguing the United States was not prepared to compete with China on AI.
