    OpenAI announced on 23 September 2026 that ChatGPT Ads would roll out in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan, taking the product past 60 countries. Ads appear only for users on the Free and Go plans.

    OpenAI announced a $110 billion private funding round on 27 February 2026 at a $730 billion pre-money valuation, with $50 billion from Amazon, $30 billion from Nvidia and $30 billion from SoftBank. It reported more than 900 million weekly ChatGPT users.

    OpenAI began testing advertisements in ChatGPT for logged-in adults in the United States on its Free and Go plans on 9 February 2026. Its chief operating officer later described the rollout as an iterative process.

    Scarlett Johansson said on 20 May 2024 that she had twice declined OpenAI’s requests to voice ChatGPT and was “shocked, angered and in disbelief” at Sky, a voice listeners compared with hers. OpenAI paused Sky and said it had cast its actor before contacting her.
